Senior Investment Manager | Elicio Belgium
Elicio NV is a major Belgian renewable energy company focused on the development, financing, construction and operation of onshore and offshore wind energy power plants. The group’s activity covers mid-size to large-scale wind projects in Belgium, France, Serbia, Spain and Scotland.
In support of its continued growth, Elicio is looking to recruit a Senior Investment Manager to strengthen its Investment Management team.
Function
The Investment Management team is part of the Finance Department located at the Ostend headquarters. The Senior Investment Manager reports directly to the Finance Director and is responsible for the review of international investment opportunities, preparing financial investment decisions and arranging structured financing on a project level for all investment approved projects.
The Senior Investment Manager leads the financing process with the relevant stakeholders from market sounding to financial close. The Senior Investment Manager is furthermore responsible for the financial aspects of M&A opportunities and for the financial workstream of onshore and offshore tendering processes.
The Investment Management team also supports the Development and Construction teams with the financial aspects of project development, including feasibility checks, risk appreciation, contracting, guarantees and insurances.
Profile
- Master Degree or higher in Finance or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Analytical mind, eager to learn & passionate about renewable energy
- 7-10 years of relevant working experience
- Fluent in Dutch, English and French
- Great team player with ‘can do’- mentality
- Solid and proven project management skills
- Solid communication and presentation skills
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Managing a diverse portfolio of projects structured and financed in SPVs across multiple European countries
- Leading the financial return/valuation analysis and modelling (cash flow model) for investment opportunities in preparation of Management and Board decisions
- Steering the financial workstream of onshore and offshore tender processes in Belgium and abroad with an emphasis on risk/returns and bankability
- Maintaining a strong network with commercial lenders, crowdfunding platforms, DFIs and ECAs. Keeping up to date with the constantly evolving energy sector and appropriate financing solutions
- Securing non-recourse project finance debt for projects ready for construction, and refinancing operational projects. Demonstrating a thorough project expertise, negotiating term sheets, hedging interest rates and leading the due diligence process until Financial Close
- Screening the financial feasibility of each project, including interpreting financial information to underpin the feasibility of the project to support the Development, Sales and Construction teams through identification and mitigation of potential issues during commercial negotiations
- Interacting with and timely updating the management team and communicating key project information within the broader Elicio group
