IT Manager | Elicio Belgium

Elicio is a Belgian company specializing in renewable energy, focusing on the development,  financing, construction, and operation of onshore and offshore wind power plants. The group operates mid-sized to large-scale wind projects in Belgium, France, Serbia, Spain, and Scotland.

To support its rapid growth, our client is looking for an IT Manager to oversee business operations and support the organization's technical infrastructure.

 

Function

As an IT Manager, you will play a key role within the company at the headquarters in Ostend. Your role involves overseeing the company's IT systems, including networks, databases, servers, and virtual machines. You will lead strategic planning and execution of IT projects, ensure robust cybersecurity measures and provide support for our international operations in France, Serbia and Spain.   In your role as IT Manager you will report to the IT director and general management of Elicio and you will coordinate and manage an existing team of 3 external IT specialists.  


Profile

  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar IT role.
  • Proven IT experience in diverse domains:
    • Networking: cloud & datacenter design, network topology and routing, switching configuration, VPN’s, wireless solutions, …
    • Infrastructure on prem: VMware/vSphere, storage, server hardware, databases,…
    • Infrastructure Cloud: Microsoft Datalakes/Databricks/Datafactory, Microsoft 365/Sharepoint/Teams,…
    • Security: Firewalling, Ms Security/Defender suite, Vulnerability management,…
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems is a plus 
  • Strong strategic planning skills and the ability to execute IT strategies effectively.
  • Strong team player mentality and leadership skills.
  • Stress resistant and critical mindset with a high sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to communicate in a transparent and clear way to the management. 
  • Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.

 

Main Tasks and Responsabilities

  • Coordinate and manage a team of external support experts.
  • Developing and implementing IT strategies that align with the company's objectives.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining network protocols, database structures, and server infrastructures.
  • Responsible for selection, upgrades and optimal functioning of software monitoring tools for operational wind assets.
  • Ensure timely and optimal integration of new wind farm assets in the IT parameter of the company.
  • Ensuring the security and integrity of IT systems, with a focus on cybersecurity.
  • Managing the setup and maintenance of virtual machines and hardware.
  • Coordinating with external vendors and managing contractual relationships.
  • Leading the planning and deployment of network installations and internet connectivity solutions.
  • Providing support for international operations.
  • Monitoring and optimizing cloud-based services.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards (a.o. NIS2 compliance).
  • Staying updated with the latest IT developments and trends to keep the company at the forefront of technology.
